Winter hiking in the Tiroler Oberland
Enjoy untouched nature on a winter hike in the Tyrolean Oberland
Snow-covered winter landscapes, mountain peaks glimmering in the sunlight, and fairy-like forests. What sounds like a Christmas fairytale is reality in the Tyrolean Oberland. See for yourself. On a winter hike, the focus is on peace and quiet, enjoyment and experience. And thanks to the perfectly signposted hiking trails, which are regularly maintained by the Tourist Board, you can hit the road without compromising on safety. Nevertheless: except for a timid deer or a nimble hare, it’s perfectly possible that you won’t see a single soul along the way. The perfect balance to a lively, exciting day on the pistes.
Hike to the peaceful neighbouring village of Ried, or discover the Rhaeto-Romanic town of Kauns, the medieval Berneck Castle, or Kaltenbrunn church, a destination for pilgrims. Heading in the other direction, you will reach Ladis and the romantic Laudegg Castle, and the source of the Tyrolean Sauerbrunn stream in Obladis. Winter hiking in the Tyrolean Oberland is really something special.
