Winter hiking in the Alps, in Prutz
Right on our doorstep at 864 metres, the Kaunertal valley opens up a winter trail network that keeps even seasoned hikers busy for a full week. The route to the medieval Altfinstermünz Castle threads through a snow-hushed landscape that feels a world away from the slopes, while the Adlerblick viewing platform rewards the climb with a panorama across the Inn valley that is hard to put into words – and even harder to forget. These are the kinds of trails where you come back to dinner with something to talk about – for stories that you’ll share with your partner, friends, colleagues.
Your own playground
Fancy winter walking in the Alps but not sure where to start? Edith & Michael know every path in the area and will put together the right route for your day – whether that means two hours of fresh air before lunch or a full snowshoe tour into the Kaunergrat Nature Park. The trails are well maintained and clearly signed throughout the season; just remember to follow the pink winter markers, not the yellow summer ones. Everything else, you can leave to us. Make sure to take advantage of your stay at Hotel Post to explore the marvelous landscape surrounding your accommodation.
